The initial date refers to the original satellite launch or the debris creation date (probably caused by a subsequent collision). The color refers to the object type: debris, rocket body fragments, or TBA (To Be Assigned) objects, still unidentified. The top-10 biggest groups of debris are further examined in the dedicated chapter "Debris Stories".
